Pinterest Slideshow and Carousel Pins

More Visual Pin Formats

Collages and carousels allow you to display multiple images or products on the same pin. Multi-image pins are perfect for more engaging organic posts or promoted pins.

This cheatsheet will walk you through how to create the following pins:

1. On desktop, in the upper-left corner, click the red "+" button. Select "Create Pin" from the drop-down.

2. Click on the left-hand panel to upload images. Select all of the images you would like in the collage. (minimum of 2 images maximum of 5 images)
Above is the screen that pops up.

3. Select "Create A Collage". The preview shown can be adjusted later.

Collage Pin Editor

Pinterest allows you to customize your collage using the Collage Pin Editor. Simply press the pencil icon on the left of the image to navigate to the editor.

Below is a breakdown of the edits you can make in each panel:

Crop Panel:

Change the aspect ratio, adjust images, and replace images in the collage.

Logo Panel (Star Icon):

Add your logo to the collage.

Text Panel:

Add text to the collage. Change the font style, color and add a font background.

Final Collage Pin

Above is my final pin - I was satisfied with what Pinterest auto-created and made no changes.

Once satisfied with how the collage looks, exit out of the editor.
Add a title, description, hashtags and a URL as normal.
In the upper-right corner, select the board you want your pin to go to and publish. Then you're all set!

Creating a Carousel

1. On desktop, in the upper-left corner, click the red "+" button. Select "Create Pin" from the drop-down.

2. Click on the left-hand panel to upload images. Select all of the images you would like in the carousel. (minimum of 2 images maximum of 5 images)

3. Select "Create a Carousel" when prompted.

Carousel Pin Editor

Similar to the Collage Pin Editor, Pinterest allows you to rearrange images, add text and your logo, and more.
Above is my finished carousel. I added text to each panel & changed the aspect ratio.

To open the Carousel Pin Editor, click on the pencil icon on the left of the image.
From there you can use the following panels:

Crop Panel:

Change the aspect ratio, adjust images, and replace the images in the carousel.

Logo Panel (Star Icon):

Add your logo to the carousel.

Text Panel:

Add text to the carousel. Change the font style, color and add a font background.

Rearrange Tool

The slide order populates based on the order you selected while uploading the images.
Circled in red is the button to rearrange the images in your carousel.

To rearrange, click the rearrange icon below the pencil icon on the left of the image.
Having this box unchecked allows you to add unique content to each slide.

Pinterest defaults to using the same title, description, and URL for each slide.
In this example, I chose to add unique content for every image.

Final Carousel Pin

Above is the final carousel I created.
I added a unique title, description and URL to each slide.
